Project Information

PrEval

PrEval (Evaluation and Quality Management in Extremism Prevention, Democracy Promotion and Civic Education: Analysis, Monitoring, Dialogue) is a research and transfer project that further develops and redesigns formats and structures to strengthen evaluation and quality management in extremism prevention, democracy promotion and civic education in Germany.

PrEval follows up on the results of the preceding project »Evaluation Designs for Prevention Measures« (03/2020 – 06/2022) and takes up the previous findings and needs of professional practice for support in evaluation projects.

Within the PrEval project, the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Conflict and Violence will, among other things, transform the already existing PrEval platform into a monitoring instrument by continuously gathering data and interviewing evaluation actors. The new data will be integrated into the platform to be able to find out if the high expectations placed on quality assurance in general and on evaluation practice in particular can be met with the current evaluation capacities.

PrEval is an open and interdisciplinary network and thrives on the different perspectives of evaluation and prevention practice, democracy promotion and political education in Germany. This is also the guiding principle for the various topic-specific workshops.

You can find more information about the project on the website of the research network.

The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of the Interior and for Home Affairs (BMI) from October 2022 to September 2025.
